Hi My name is John Roberts (Taffy) I joined the boys squadron in 1954 at Gibraltar barracks. Then we moved to Malta barracks alongside the Basingstoke canal. I loved the area and I have been back there several time over the years; it hasn't changed a bit. Does anyone remember the bridge café, I had some great times in there! If anyone knows the whereabouts of Vernon Steed (Stead?) Taffy Telling or Ginger Malcolm(Yorky) please let me know. After several years in the RE I transferred to the APTC, but never forgot my roots and the great times I had in the Far East, BAOR etc.
